Posts have their own Dimension and Extension options in the past they shared the "shape" settings.

Roof Edges can reference Posts, round or square, just the same as the would walls and beams.

Posts in the default libraries are sized as actual rather than nominal.  For example a 6" x 6" post draws as 5.5" x 5.5".
